The Movement SDG Club is a self-directed community group in KAUST promoting health, wellbeing, and connection through dance and yoga. Led by President Nimisha Rajawat and supported by a passionate team of volunteers and teachers, the club offers classes for both children and adults.
Children's dance and yoga classes require advance registration due to limited spaces. Registration opens twice a year in line with the KAUST School academic calendar:

Playgroup

Join our weekly playgroup, a fun and relaxed space for moms and little ones to connect! During the sunny summer months, parents can host gatherings at their homes, while in cooler seasons, we meet at the park for outdoor play and social time. It’s a wonderful way for children to make friends, explore, and for parents to share experiences and enjoy community.

Mini Movers gives children aged 0–4 the opportunity to play and explore alongside their parent or caregiver. This activity encourages free play while supporting the development of gross motor skills, using fun, age-appropriate equipment designed especially for little ones.

This fun and engaging session invites children to explore shapes, colors, and textures through cutting and pasting activities. Because scissors and craft tools are used, parents and caretakers are required to be actively involved and stay with their children throughout the activity. It’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy quality time together while helping little hands practice fine motor skills and creative expression in a safe, guided environment.

Dive into fun at Octoplay! Located at the Racquet Club, this vibrant ocean-themed soft play area is designed for toddlers and young children under 6. With plenty of open space, a reading corner, ball pit, and slide, it’s the perfect place for little ones to play, explore, and imagine.

South Beach

With soft sand, calm waters, and a shaded playground and seating, South Beach is a great destination for a family day outdoors. Paid watersports, including paddle boat rentals, offer plenty of fun for children when accompanied by their parents. Pack a few snacks, settle in by the shore, and enjoy a relaxing day by the Red Sea.

The Island Pool has a dedicated children's pool and a larger family pool, it provides a safe and enjoyable environment for swimmers of all ages. Overlooking the Red Sea, it's also a wonderful spot to relax and take in the views while the kids play.

Discovery Cinema brings a great mix of movies to KAUST each month, making it a popular choice for family outings and evening entertainment. Tickets can be pre-booked through the KAUSTCentral app, and the schedule is updated regularly with alternating movie selections.
Younger children must be supervised by an adult. Please note that movie age ratings are enforced, so be sure to check the classification before booking.

Sunday Community Walk - Golf course

A favorite Sunday tradition is a walk around the Golf Course. Open to the community every Sunday from 3pm, it's a peaceful place for families and dog owners to enjoy the outdoors, with shady spots under the trees that are perfect for relaxing while the kids run around and play. Bring a blanket, some snacks, and plenty of water, then settle in and soak up the beautiful surroundings.

Build, stack, and create! The Island Recreation Club soft play area is ideal for children 6 and under. Little builders can use their creativity to make imaginative structures while having fun and learning through play.

Perfect for burning off some energy, the Island Recreation Club Playland offers a safe and exciting indoor space for children aged 3 and above. Little adventurers can climb, slide, and explore to their hearts' content. Remember to bring socks for both children and accompanying adults; socks can also be purchased at reception.
Entry costs SAR10 per child, tickets purchased at reception.

The Harbor Sports Club has temperature-controlled pools that are heated in winter and chilled in summer. Facilities include a family pool, a dedicated children's pool, and a ladies-only pool located within the gym. During school terms, swimming lessons and training sessions may occasionally limit access to the main family pool.

Looking for a family day out beyond KAUST? The off-campus bus service provides convenient free transport to some of Jeddah's most popular shopping malls, including Red Sea Mall and Mall of Arabia. Early morning departures on Mondays and Tuesdays are ideal for avoiding the busiest times, and with a wide range of family attractions, play areas, and entertainment options, the malls are a great way to keep children occupied during the summer holidays.
You can also see the schedule on the KAUST Central App and make your booking there. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Looking for a fun indoor activity with family or friends? The Harbor Sports Club Bowling Center features 16 lanes with automatic scoring, making it easy for players of all ages to join in the fun. With comfortable seating nearby and the Harbor Sports Café just a short walk away, it's a great place to unwind, enjoy a game, and spend quality time together.
Younger children must be supervised by an adult. SAR20 per game.

Whether you're a seasoned runner or simply enjoy getting active outdoors, this free 5km community event takes place every Friday and welcomes all fitness levels. Morning and evening runs alternate throughout the month, so be sure to check the WhatsApp group for the latest schedule and route information, or join via the Strava club (visit link).
Kids are welcome. Under 12 needs to run with adults.
